Sheldon Benjamin, MD is Professor of Psychiatry and Neurology, Director of Neuropsychiatry, and Interim Chair of Psychiatry at University of Massachusetts Medical School. A member of the UMass Medical School faculty since 1986, he has been director of the Psychiatry residency program since 1995, co-directs the Combined Neuropsychiatry Residency, and is Director of the Neuropsychiatry Fellowship Program. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Psychiatry and Neurology, and by the United Council of Neurological Subspecialties in Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry. Dr. Benjamin has been recognized by the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society as the 2001 Psychiatric Educator of the Year and was elected by the UMass Medical School faculty to receive the 2008 Lamar Soutter Award for Lifetime Achievement in Education. In 2012 he was awarded the University of Massachusetts Chancellor's Medal for Distinguished Teaching and delivered the prestigious "Last Lecture" at UMass in 2013. He is the past president of the American Association of Directors of Psychiatry Residency Training (AADPRT) and the American Neuropsychiatric Association (ANPA). He has published and lectured widely on neuropsychiatric topics.
Margo Lauterbach, MD is a staff Neuropsychiatrist and Director of the Concussion Clinic at the Sheppard Pratt Health System, and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her psychiatry residency and fellowship training in Neuropsychiatry at the University of Massachusetts. She has taught numerous medical students and residents, and given presentations both nationally and internationally. Her areas of interest include medical education and clinically: multiple sclerosis, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and intellectual disabilities.
Miriam Rosenblum is Managing Director of Brain Educators LLC and designer of The Brain Card®. She comes to Brain Educators after more than three decades in the field of nonprofit management in addition to serving as a chaplain at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
